Did you know?
There’s an ordinance in Boise (Title 7 of Boise City Code) that restricts ALL fireworks in certain areas of the Foothills. See the below note from the Wildfire Mitigation Coordinator Capt. McAdams from City of Boise:
With Fireworks at the forefront of everyone’s mind, and our nation’s foremost patriotic holiday coming up on the 4th of July, it is important to remind everyone that there are areas within the City of Boise that have complete fireworks bans, regardless of the type of fireworks used. Only “Safe and Sane” fireworks are lawful to use in the City of Boise, however any and all fireworks, including “Safe and Sane,” are banned in the ‘Foothills’ area, per Title 7 of Boise City Code (see below), which has a distinct topographical and wildland fire hazard component. To help protect residents and the environment from the devastating effects of wildfire, please support and comply with these bans. The fireworks ban area is generally the area north of Warm Springs Ave, and the area north of Hill Rd, as well as portions of Boise’s North End. Please refer to the attached map for additional clarification. The Boise Fire Department wishes you a happy and safe 4th of July holiday! Thank you.
BOISE CITY CODE – “It shall be unlawful for any person to use any fireworks, either “dangerous” or non-aerial common fireworks in the area defined by this code as “the foothills”….”
